EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026 Preview Released — 700,000 Expected, Night Air Shows Confirmed for July 20-26

The EAA just dropped its full lineup for the 73rd EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, happening July 20–26, 2026, at Wittman Regional Airport in Wisconsin. Organizers are expecting more than 700,000 attendees, 10,000+ aircraft, and nine air shows stretched across seven days—including two night demonstrations that mark a major shift for the event.

Here’s the big news: the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (Red Arrows) will perform at AirVenture for the first time ever. They’ll be there July 24–26, flying their signature BAE Systems Hawk T1 jets daily. The Red Arrows are marking their 62nd season and are in North America for a broader U.S. tour celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary while deepening UK–US aviation partnerships.

Rick Larsen, EAA’s VP of communities and member programs, said it plainly: “The Red Arrows have long been on the list of teams that aviation enthusiasts have wanted to see at Oshkosh. The team’s extended U.S. tour schedule allowed them to include AirVenture on their itinerary.”

Wing Commander Sasha Nash, commanding officer of the Red Arrows, echoed that sentiment. “The tour is a fantastic opportunity to display the best of British aviation at significant events marking the 250th anniversary, alongside friends, allies, and international counterparts.”

Nine Air Shows Over Seven Days

Daher is backing six daily afternoon shows running 2:30–6:30 PM Monday–Saturday, then 1:00–4:30 PM Sunday. Covington Aircraft and Hartzell Propeller are each sponsoring night air shows—July 22 and July 25 respectively—both kicking off at 8:00 PM.

The military side looks equally impressive. You’ll see USAF F-22 Raptor and F-16 Viper demo teams, USMC F-35B from MCAS Miramar, Heritage Flight formation, USAF C-17 Globemaster III, B-52 bomber, NASA Super Guppy, and the U.S. Army Golden Knights skydiving team. The Wisconsin National Guard rounds things out with a combined-arms demonstration.

Warbirds and Historic Restorations

The B-29 Superfortress Doc—one of only two flying examples left in the world—is coming back for static display and cockpit tours on Boeing Plaza July 24–25. Flight experience rides run July 20–23 from Appleton International Airport. The Commemorative Air Force is bringing three aircraft: the Boeing B-17 Sentimental Journey, North American B-25 Maid in the Shade, and Consolidated B-24 Diamond Lil. All three offer passenger flights.

Austria’s Flying Bulls are making their U.S. debut with a restored Douglas DC-6B and Lockheed P-38 Lightning—and this is their only U.S. air show appearance of 2026. There’s also a rumor of at least three P-38 Lightnings total appearing, which would be an exceptionally rare sight.

The Seattle II, a replica of the 1924 Douglas World Cruiser that pulled off aviation’s first aerial circumnavigation, will be on display and later loaned to the EAA Aviation Museum.

New Vertical Lift Center

EAA is introducing the Vertical Lift Center—an exhibition area focused on rotorcraft and vertical lift technology. Robinson Helicopter and Vertical Aviation International are sponsoring it. The move reflects the industry’s growing emphasis on eVTOL and autonomous systems. The Wisk Aero Cora autonomous eVTOL will be displayed at the EAA Aviation Museum’s Innovations Gallery.

Youth Admission and Young Eagles Milestone

Boeing is covering free admission for everyone 18 and under—again this year. Wednesday, July 22, EAA Young Eagles Chairman Jimmy Graham will fly the program’s 2.5 millionth participant right before the afternoon air show. It’s a milestone moment for the youth aviation initiative.

USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards recently voted AirVenture 2026 as the Best Airshow in the USA.
